The Eternity of Hell

Whoever enters Hell (and will be made to taste its burning) will not be able to escape. There he will neither die (to be in rest) nor live (a good living). [Qur’an 87:13]

Neither will it have a complete killing effect on them so that they die, nor shall its torment be lightened for them. [Qur’an 35:36]

And they will cry: “O Malik (the angel of charge of the custodians of Hell)! Let your Lord put an end to us.” He will say: “Verily you shall abide forever.” [Qur’an 43:77]

Concerning this, Ibn Abbas said: “The time between their asking to be released and their receiving the answer from Malik will be one thousand years.”
