‘Umar b. ‘Abd al-‘Azīz said to Abu Hazim, “Advise me.”
Abu Hazim said:
“Lay down, imagine that death is right next to your head and think about what you would like to be doing during that moment, so that you practice it now, and think about what you hate to be doing and abandon it now.”
Note: Another lesson to learn is that the righteous would ask each other for advice regarding the akhira.
