When someone asked Imām al-Sha‘bī [d. 103H], who was known for his humour, the name of Iblees’ wife, he replied,
[ ذ ٰلِكَ عُرسٌ لَم أَشهَدُهُ ]
“That was a wedding I did not attend.”
