One day, ‘Ali b. Abi Tālib was passing by a graveyard and he greeted its inhabitants:
“Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the graves! What is your condition now?…I will tell you about your condition in this world. Your wealth has already been divided, your homes already have new occupants, and your wives have already remarried.”
Then he wept and said: “By Allah! If they could answer me they would reply that the best of provisions is taqwa!”
