Beware of Procrastination

It was said to a scholar, “Advise us.”

So he said, “Beware of saying “soon”.

(as in: “Soon I will do this/that”)

Squandering Time

One of the scholars saw his neighbors wandering aimlessly, so he asked them, “What is the matter with you?”

They replied, “We have finished our duties of the day.”

So he said, “And is this what the one with no duties has been ordered with?”

Meet Only for Knowledge & Improvement

Meeting with people brings about no benefit,
Except with the increase of, ‘it has been said,’ and ‘he said,’
So spend less time in conversing with others, though barring,
The acquirement of knowledge or the improvement of one’s condition.
